Alondra Gutiérrez García and Samuel Armistead met during their junior years at separate colleges—Alondra at West Virginia Tech and Samuel at Virginia Tech. Their connection began online, and after a few weeks of talking, they were eager to meet in person. Sam knew right away that Ali was someone special; he asked her to be his girlfriend on their first date, and within months, he realized he wanted to spend his life with her.
Despite the challenges of a long-distance relationship throughout college, their deep devotion made every hurdle easier to overcome. They discovered numerous common interests, shared experiences, and mutual values. They also embraced each other’s cultures, growing to appreciate and love their unique differences.
Fast forward a few years, Sam proposed atop the historic El Castillo de Chapultapec in Mexico City, presenting Ali with his grandmother Katherine Sutherland’s cherished engagement ring, in a setting of his own design.
They are overjoyed to embark on this journey together, and eager to build a beautiful, multicultural family. They look forward to celebrating their special day surrounded by the love and support of friends and family.
