The most important museum of Mexican history.
Explore Castillo de Chapultepec, an architectural gem turned historical museum, nestled within Chapultepec Park—one of the places to visit in Mexico City.
The museum, also known as "Casa Azul" for its cobalt blue exterior, is where Frida Khalo was born and raised. She lived (and eventually died) in the home, which she shared with her fellow artist/husband, Diego Rivera.
Dating back to 1693 the Mexican government palace sits on the site of Monteczuma's residence. Inside you'll find a collection of murals painted by Diego Rivera. One particularly famous mural condenses two thousand years of Mexican history. Admission is free.
